Division 11 Maintenance Facility: Blue Line Yard Expansion

Electrical construction plans and specific location for light rail cars maintenance facility expansion in Long Beach. Design-build work performed in coordination with Stacy and Whitbeck, in charge of construction.

Scope of Work:

  • SI-4 building: Retrofit of existing building structure to an inspection building. New underground electrical connection was designed for new electrical switchboard. Power and illumination was implemented for the following areas: service pits, gate openers, service catwalks, offices, service area exhaust fans and HVAS connection for offices. Parking lighting analysis was performed to evaluate glare disruption to train drivers. Coordination for security, life safety systems and communication systems. Coordination with CS for DC power lines for train traction.
  • Vehicle Shop and Car Wash: expansion of each building: Power distribution, illumination, equipment power and control interlocks. Coordination for security, life safety and communication systems.
