The Eastside Light Rail Transit Project Phase 1, is a 6.5-mile light rail system to East Los Angeles and is the continuation of the Pasadena Gold Line project from Union Station to its terminus at Pomona/Atlantic Station. Electrical Building Systems, Inc. was responsible for the preliminary electrical engineering for this project partnered with Barrio Planners Incorporated, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Quade & Douglas, Inc. and Jenkins Gales & Martinez, Inc. Electrical engineering design was provided for up to 30% of completion for the stations. The underground tunnels were designed to 60% completion.
Our scope of service included the design of electrical construction documents for power, illumination, control diagrams for equipment and systems of the 101 Freeway Bridge Over-crossing, the L.A. River Historic Bridge Over-Crossing, four miles of At-Grade guideway including 6 At-Grade Stations (Little Tokyo Arts Dist., Utah Street Station, Indiana Avenue Station), 2 and 0.5 miles of Underground Tunnels including 2 Underground Stations: Boyle Avenue Station, AKA Mariachi Plaza Station and Soto Street Station.
Electrical Building Systems, Inc. was also tasked with coordination for security, life safety systems, communication and grounding systems. In addition, EBS provided personnel support to the mechanical systems design and complete lighting analysis of illumination levels along tunnels and tunnel entrances.
