Section 1

The Purple Line Extension will be broken down into three phases/sections. EBS is participating in all three phases. Concurrently, EBS Engineers are assisting Parsons Corporation with design services during construction on the Westside Purple Line Extension Phase I.

Section 2 – Century City Constellation Station and Tunnel Reach 5

In 2017, EBS Engineers began the design of the Westside Purple Line Extension Phase II Constellation Station in Century City and Tunnel Reach 5, located between Constellation Station and Wilshire/Rodeo Station. Construction is led by Tutor Perini/O&G JV and the design team is led by STV Incorporated, estimated cost at $ 2 billion. The Westside Purple Line Extension Section 2 will extend the existing heavy rail subway Purple Line approximately 2.55 miles from future terminus at Wilshire/Cienega and will include 2 new stations: Wilshire/Rodeo and Century City Constellation Station. The Section 2 alignment travels westerly beneath the City of Beverly Hills and Century City Area of Los Angeles.

Section 3 – Westwood UCLA Station and Tail Track

In 2019, EBS began designing the Westwood/UCLA Station and Tail Track structure as part of the Westside Purple Line Extension Project Phase III. Phase III is the last section of the Westside Purple Line Extension Transit Project, extending the current Purple Line to two 2 stations, Westwood/UCLA and Westwood/V.A. Hospital, which will be open in 2026. This design-build project is estimated at $2 billion, and is managed by the Construction Team of Frontier-Kemper/Tutor Perini JV. The design effort is led by STV Incorporated.
